Tracking updates
Users can now initiate container tracking using ONLY the Master Bill Of Lading (MBOL). This identifier is often available earlier than the container ID, which was required for tracking in prior Drayage versions. This recent update now allows users to enter only the MBOL during creation or post shipment creation to initiate tracking on the container associated to the MBOL. Users can still leverage the container ID for tracking.
How it works:
During Shipment Creation or post shipment creation, users can enter the MBOL into the required field.
Shipwell will recognize the MBOL and will use that identifier to initiate a tracking request.
Tracking then works to “locate” details on the MBOL. Locating container details can take up to an hour. Once the container is located, we will parse the container data and display this information immediately.
At this time, one drayage shipment supports single container tracking. If there are multiple containers on a single MBOL we will provide the details from the first container on the MBOL provided. Multi-container tracking will be available in a future release.
1. Improved Visibility of Key Shipment Milestones
Users can now quickly track key shipment milestones at the top of the shipment details page. These fields are editable by the end users and a tooltip hover ensures understanding of each field and what it represents. These fields are populated by our tracking partner.
Note: We use specific criteria, including recent performance and historical estimate accuracy, to decide which estimate is used to populate the ETA for the container. As a result, there may be instances where the estimate comes from the terminal rather than the vessel. This could lead to discrepancies between our estimates and what customers see with direct ocean liner data displayed on their websites.
Origin ETD - Estimated departure date from the origin location
Origin ATD - Actual departure date from the origin location
