Shipwell's Dock Scheduling lets you restrict appointment availability at your facility in two ways: Holiday Rules (for full-day closures) and Hours of Operation (for daily time window restrictions).
Holiday Rules β block a full day
Use Holiday Rules to mark specific dates as closed (e.g., company holidays, planned shutdowns).
Go to Dock Scheduling and select your Facility.
Open Facility Settings.
Navigate to the Attributes section.
Under Holiday Rules, click Add Holiday.
Enter the date(s) and a name/reason for the closure.
Save. No appointments can be booked on those dates.
Note: Existing appointments on a blocked date are not automatically cancelled β you will need to reschedule them manually.
Hours of Operation β restrict daily time windows
Use Hours of Operation to define when each dock is open for appointments each day of the week.
Go to Dock Scheduling and select your Facility.
Open Facility Settings and go to the Docks tab.
For each dock, set the Open and Close times per day of the week.
To close a dock on a specific day, mark that day as closed.
Save. Appointment booking will only be available within those hours.
Notes
Holiday Rules and Hours of Operation apply at the facility level and affect all docks unless configured per-dock.
Carriers and suppliers booking through the carrier portal will only see slots that fall within your configured hours.
For recurring weekly patterns, use Hours of Operation. For one-off date closures, use Holiday Rules.
