Shipwell allows users to add, remove, and manage tags on shipments to help organize and filter your freight. Tags are customizable labels that make it easy to categorize shipments by project, customer, workflow, or any criteria important to your team.
What are shipment tags?
Tags are color-coded labels that appear on shipments in your dashboard. They can be used to filter and identify shipments quickly. Common uses include marking priority loads, grouping by customer, or tracking special handling requirements.
Adding or Changing Tags on a Shipment
Open the shipment from your dashboard.
In the shipment detail view, locate the Tags field (usually near the top of the shipment details panel).
Click on the Tags field to open the tag selector.
Select one or more tags from the dropdown list, or type to search for a tag by name.
Click outside the selector or press Enter to save.
Why Can't I Change Tags?
There are a few reasons you might be unable to edit tags on a shipment:
Permissions: Your user account may not have the necessary permissions to edit shipment details. Contact your account administrator to request the appropriate access level.
Shipment Status: Some fields on a shipment may become locked after the shipment reaches certain statuses (e.g., delivered, reconciled, or cancelled). If the shipment is in a terminal status, tag editing may be restricted.
Archived Shipments: Archived shipments are read-only and cannot be edited, including their tags.
Managing Your Tag Library
To create, edit, or delete tags in your company's tag library, contact your Customer Success Manager or an account administrator who can manage company-level settings.
