Rate Confirmation: How to Get or Resend Your Rate Confirmation

Overview

A rate confirmation is a document that confirms the agreed-upon rate and shipment details between a broker/shipper and a carrier. This article explains how both carriers and shippers can access or resend rate confirmations in Shipwell.

For Carriers: How to Get Your Rate Confirmation

If you are a carrier and have not received your rate confirmation:

  1. Check your email inbox (including spam/junk folder)—rate confirmations are automatically emailed as a PDF when a load is tendered to you

  2. Log into the Shipwell Carrier Portal—if you have portal access, open the shipment and download the rate confirmation from the Documents section of the shipment detail page

  3. Contact the broker or shipper directly—ask them to resend the rate confirmation from their side (see Shipper instructions below)

For Shippers/Brokers: How to Resend a Rate Confirmation

  1. Open the shipment in Shipwell from your Shipments Dashboard

  2. Go to the Documents tab on the Shipment Details page

  3. Find the rate confirmation document

  4. Use the email or download option to send the PDF to the carrier

Notes

  • Rate confirmations are generated when a carrier is assigned and confirmed on a shipment

  • If the shipment was not created in Shipwell (e.g., booked externally), there may not be a rate confirmation available in the system

  • Carriers should always check their email first—this is the most reliable method to retrieve a rate confirmation without requiring broker action
