Shipwell uses a configurable distance service to calculate mileage on your shipments. The version of PC Miler (or other distance service) you have configured determines which routing dataset is used for these calculations.
How to Update Your PC Miler Version
You can update the distance service directly in the Shipwell UI — no support ticket required:
Navigate to Manage → Company (or Manage → Customer if updating for a specific customer account).
Go to Company Defaults > Customer Settings > Customer Mileage Service
Find the Distance Service drop-down.
Select your desired PC Miler version (e.g., PC Miler Version 39 is the latest available).
Save your changes.
Notes
The latest available version is PC Miler Version 39. Shipwell periodically adds support for newer versions as they are released.
Changing the distance service version affects all future mileage calculations on your shipments. Existing shipment mileage is not retroactively recalculated.
The distance service is also used for drive time estimates displayed between stops on the shipment detail page.
If you do not see the Distance Service drop-down, contact your Customer Success Manager — your account permissions may not include company-level settings access.
Other Distance Services
In addition to PC Miler, Shipwell supports other distance service options such as HERE Maps and Rand McNally. The available options may vary based on your contract and account configuration. Contact your CSM if you need a distance service option not available in the drop-down.
