Overview
When a shipment is in Tendered status (a carrier has been offered the load but has not yet accepted or rejected), you can revoke the tender to pull back the offer. This article covers how to revoke a pending tender, what happens when you do, and how to cancel the underlying shipment if needed.
How to Revoke a Pending Tender
Open the shipment from your Shipments Dashboard.
Navigate to the Bids sub-tab on the shipment detail page.
Scroll to the Tenders section.
Click Revoke next to the pending tender.
The shipment status will change to Tender Revoked. The carrier will see the load as Closed.
Note: You can only revoke a tender while it is still in Pending status — i.e., the carrier has not yet accepted or rejected. If the carrier has already accepted, the shipment is in Carrier Confirmed status and you would need to remove the carrier assignment rather than revoke a tender.
After Revoking — What's Next?
After revoking, the shipment returns to an open state. You can:
Issue a new tender to the same or a different carrier via Tender to Carriers in the Actions tab.
Assign a carrier directly from the shipment detail page.
Post to the Load Board for open bids.
Cancelling the Shipment Entirely
If you want to cancel the shipment outright (not just revoke the tender), use the Actions menu → Cancel Shipment option. Note:
Cancelling a shipment automatically revokes all open tenders on that shipment.
Cancelled is a terminal status—it cannot be undone.
If a TONU (Truck Ordered, Not Used) is owed to the carrier, add it via the Financials tab after cancelling.
EDI Carrier Notes
If the carrier is set up with EDI, revoking or cancelling will automatically send a 205 (Shipment Cancellation) message to the carrier — no manual outreach needed.
