Overview
The Shipment Dashboard is where you view, track, and act on all of your freight in Shipwell. It is the default landing page when you log in, and you can return to it any time by selecting Shipments in the left navigation.
The Shipments dashboard has been rebuilt. It keeps the same core ideas as before — filters, columns, sorting, and saved views, but adds multi-stage shipment support, inline editing from the table, a frozen ID column, more filters, a larger set of bulk actions, and a clearer way to save your layout.
What's new
Area | What changed |
Multi-stage shipments | New Stages and Multi-Stage ID columns. You can also create a multi-stage shipment from the bulk actions menu. |
Inline editing | Edit delivery date and equipment directly from a table row without opening the shipment. |
Frozen ID column | The ID column (and the row checkbox) stay in place when you scroll the table sideways. |
Search | The search box is now a single "Search all Shipments". The old "All / Within Filters" dropdown has been removed. |
More filters | New filters for ocean/FCL and scheduling: Container #, Container Return Date, Estimated Port Arrival, Last Free Date, Release Date, Seal #, Next Stop Appt Status, Workflows, Custom Data. |
Bulk actions | A single Shipment Bulk Actions menu with many actions (tender, print/email BOL, change status, create round trips, create multi-stage shipment, and more). |
Saving your layout | A clearer save model, including a prompt to save your changes before you leave the page (rolling out — see "Saving changes" below). |
Reading the table
Each row is one shipment. Depending on your columns, you may see:
ID — the Shipwell shipment ID. Click it to open the shipment. The ID stays pinned on the left when you scroll sideways.
Multi-Stage ID / Stages — for multi-stage shipments. Single-stage shipments show
--.Status — the current status (for example, Quoting, Carrier Confirmed, Draft • Open). An alert triangle can appear next to the ID when a shipment needs attention.
Stops — a compact count of pickups (↑) and deliveries (↓).
Mode / Equipment / Quantity / Weight — shipment details.
Actions — quick icons for Documents, Shipment Contacts, Internal Notes, Messages, and Watch shipment.
Inline editing: hover a row's cell to edit it in place. A small editor opens with Cancel and Save. Currently available on the following columns: Status, Delivery Date, Delivery Location, Pick up Date, Pick up location, and Secondary BOL.
Searching
Use the Search all Shipments box at the top to search across shipments (ID, references, customer, origin/destination, and more). There is no longer an "All / Within Filters" dropdown next to the search box — search runs against all shipments.
Filtering
Open the side panel (toggle on the left of the table) and select the Filters tab. There are 30+ filters, including:
Archived, Accessorials, Alerts, Bill, Carrier, Container #, Container Return Date, Created, Created By, Custom Data, Customer, Delivery Address, Delivery Company, Delivery Date, Estimated Port Arrival, Equipment, Group, Invoice, Last Free Date, Load Board, Mode, Next Stop Appt Status, Pickup Address, Pickup Company, Pickup Date, Release Date, Reps, Seal #, Service Level, Status, Tags, Tender Status, Workflows.
How filters combine:
Different filters combine with AND — results must match every filter you set (for example, Mode = Full Truckload AND Status = Delivered).
Multiple values in one filter combine with OR by default (for example, Mode = Full Truckload OR Less Than Truckload).
Status and Tags also support an OR / EXCLUDE toggle. EXCLUDE hides any shipment matching the selected values.
Filters apply as soon as you select them. Each applied filter appears as a chip above the table, where you can remove it. Use Undo to reverse your last change or Clear All to remove all filters.
You can also remove filters from the filters list by selecting CLEAR.
Columns
In the side panel, select the Columns tab to choose which columns appear and in what order.
Use the toggle next to a column to turn it on or off.
Drag the handle to reorder a column. ID stays as the first column.
Frozen ID column: when you scroll the table sideways, the ID column and row checkbox stay pinned on the left so you always know which shipment you're looking at.
Sorting
Click a column header that shows a sort arrow to sort by that column. You can sort by one column at a time; sorting a new column clears the previous sort.
Saved views (dashboards)
Saved views store a layout — filters, columns, column order, and sort — so you can switch between them quickly. Views are personal to each user.
Open the side panel and select the Saved tab to see your views.
The view currently applied is marked CURRENT.
Your DEFAULT view is the one that loads when you log in or open Shipments. Only one view can be the default.
Use a view's menu (⋮) to Set as default, Rename, or Delete it.
Saving changes
When you change filters or columns, those changes are kept if you are on a currently saved view, but are not saved if you are working on an unsaved view.
If you are on a saved view and make changes, those changes will be captured as you make them and automatically applied to that view, even if you navigate to a different area of Shipwell.
To save your current filters and columns as a new view, use Save filters and columns schema, give it a name, and optionally set it as your default.
Save prompt when leaving the page (rolling out): when you navigate away with unsaved changes on an unsaved dashboard view, Shipwell prompts you to save first — you can name the new dashboard, optionally set it as default, or choose Leave Without Saving.
Notes for users moving from the older dashboard
Your existing saved views are kept. If your preferred view isn't loading automatically, open the Saved tab, open its menu, and choose Set as default.
Filters you had set in the older dashboard but never saved will not carry over. Save any layout you want to keep as a view.
Column changes are not kept until you save them — use Update (for an existing view) or save them as a new view.
Bulk actions
Select one or more shipments using the row checkboxes. A Shipment Bulk Actions button appears at the top right, and a "N selected" indicator appears at the bottom with Clear selection.
The bulk actions menu includes:
Create Multi-Stage Shipment, Change Shipment Status, Create Round Trips, Download Shipments, Edit Shipment Dates, Email BOL, Print BOL, Print Shipping Label, Push to Routing Guide, Tender to Carrier, Schedule Pickup, Archive Shipment, Cancel Shipment.
Some actions are only available for shipments in the right state; they appear greyed out otherwise.
Rows per page and paging
At the bottom of the dashboard, set Rows Per Page (10, 20, 50, or 100) and move between pages with the paging controls.
