Stop Status Guide

When monitoring shipments from quoting, dispatching, In Transit, and Delivery, stop-level actions provide more granularity for tracking loads and recording notable events. Using Stop Statues, Stop Events, Stop Flags, and Reason Codes will automatically update your shipment timelines. Though the list of events in this guide is not comprehensive, it does include all the most valuable events.

To begin updating stop statuses:

  1. Log in to app.shipwell.com.

  2. Go to Shipments. Select the shipment ID for which you want to add a stop status.

  3. On the Shipments view, select the actions menu on the top right hand corner of the stop panel.

  4. In the actions menu, you can perform actions such as:

Dispatch a driver

If a shipment has yet for a carrier to be dispatched, select the Dispatch Carrier option.

The event time menu appears, allowing you to select the time the driver was dispatched.

Select Save. Now the Stop 1 status will be set to En route, and the Mark As Arrived button appears. When the driver has arrived at the stop, select the Mark As Arrived button and enter the time the driver arrived. If the time is later than the originally scheduled time upon dispatch, enter a reason from the drop down menu.

The status of the shipment will update to At Stop. Remaining Stop Statuses include:

  • Departed, for when a driver has departed a stop.

  • Delivered, for when Mark As Complete has been selected at the final stop listed on the shipment

Add a flag

Flags appear whenever an unplanned stop event occurs. For example, if a driver arrives at a stop later than the scheduled time, the flag icon appears next to the stop. However, you can also Add Flags by selecting Actions Menu > Add Flag.

Now, you can select a Flag Type and Reason, which warns the shipper that the shipment may not be proceeding according to plan. After you’ve selected both, click Save.

The Flag now appears next to the stop.

Add an event

Similar to flags, you can Add Events from the stop actions menu. Select the desired Event Type, set the Event Date when it actually occurred, and choose a Reason then click Save.

Updates to timeline

The Timeline will display status, event, and ETA updates as well as when adding or removing flags.

Each Timeline addition will include the time specified when creating a Stop event.

When updating ETAs or manually adding and removing flags, a date and time is not asked for. The Timeline will reflect the date and time the user made that change.
