In app.shipwell.com (or your custom URL), select Manage > Address Book.

On the Address Book page, select Add New.

Select New > Address Book.

On the Address Book page, select Add New.

After clicking Add New on the Address Book page, a blank address book entry appears. Enter information for all of the required fields:

  • Location Name: A searchable name for the location. Can match the Company Name.

  • Company Name: An address book entry’s facility name. Appears on Rate Confirmation and BOL forms.

  • Company Address: The street address for the address book entry. Note that you can manually enter address components or input a lat/lon point for addresses that are not found easily.

  • Start Time & End Time: The Start Time and End Time fields populate upon confirmation of a verified Company Address. Time zones for both fields will be set automatically based on the address.

  • Default Origin Address (Optional): Check to utilize the origin address any time a user manually creates a new shipment (New > Shipment) or a new quote (New > Quote).

  • Location Type: This field is used to identify what type of address book entry is being added. Example: “Business (without a dock or forklift)” would be pertinent information for all parties involved with a shipment picking up from or delivering to that facility.

  • Appointment Type: (Optional)The location’s policy for loading and unloading.

  • Accessorials: (Optional) Additional requirements for that location that may be pertinent to a driver or operator.

  • External Reference: (Optional) Companies that use an outside source to pull in Shipments or orders automatically. For any users utilizing the Order Import function, enter the External Reference data into the Customer ID or Supplier ID in order to populate that location entry’s associated information.

  • Location Notes: (Optional) Location-specific notes shared through the Shipwell mobile app or Shipwell-generated paperwork, including Rate Confirmation and BOL forms. Example: Facility open 24/7. A driver must call guard shack upon arrival.

  • Add Contact: Any additional contacts associated with that location.

  1. Contact Information - First Name: The contact’s first name

  2. Contact Information - Last Name: The contact’s last name

  3. Contact Information - Email: The contact’s email address

  4. Contact Information - Phone Number: The contact’s phone number

  5. Receive All Notifications: Allows the contact to receive all shipment or delivery updates. Select Show details to customize which notification the user receives.

After you’ve entered all required and optional information for the Address Book entry, select Save. You can now select this address as a location for all shipments and orders.
