Vendor-facing shipment request

  1. A Shipwell platform user will initiate a Shipment Request by entering a vendor’s email address and PO #.

  • Shipment Requests are only used for LTL shipments.

  1. This initiation will prompt an email to the vendor. The email will state the user’s company that requested the shipment creation, and will indicate the PO # for the request.

  2. To create the shipment, click on the blue “Create Shipment” button.

  1. This will bring the recipient to a webpage to fill out the necessary details.

  1. Entering Shipment Details…

  • Stop 1

  1. Pickup Address* - a required field, enter the address for the shipment’s pickup. Addresses are pulled from Google Maps.

  2. Company Name* - a required field, enter the company name associated with the address.

  3. On Date*, Ready At*, Closes At* - required fields, enter the pickup date, ready time, and close time. Times must be in military time and in the timezone of the pickup address.

  4. Location Type* - a required field, choose from the dropdown.

  5. Pickup Accessorials - an optional field, choose from the dropdown if applicable.

  6. Instructions - an optional field, indicate any special instructions that the carrier will need to know for pickup.

  7. First Name*, Email*, Phone Number* - required fields, enter the following contact information for the pickup location.

  1. Delivery Address* - a required field, enter the address for the shipment’s pickup. Addresses are pulled from Google Maps.

  2. Company Name* - a required field, enter the company name associated with the address

  3. Opens At*, Closes At* - required fields, enter open and close times for the delivery address. Times must be in military time and in the timezone of the delivery address.

  4. Location Type* - a required field, choose from the dropdown.

  5. Delivery Accessorials - an optional field, choose from the dropdown if applicable.

  6. Instructions - an optional field, indicate any special instructions that the carrier will need to know for pickup.

  7. First Name*, Email*, Phone Number* - required fields, enter the contact information for the pickup location.

  8. Shipment Accessorials - an optional field, choose from the dropdown if applicable to the overall shipment

  • References & Instructions

  1. PRO # - an optional field, enter a PRO # if applicable.

  2. PO # - an optional field, this will pre-populate with the PO # indicated by the Shipwell platform user.

  • Shipping Items

  1. Product Description* - a required field, indicate the product type

  2. Quantity* - a required field, indicate the quantity for the next field “Packaging”

  3. Packaging* - a required field, choose from the dropdown to indicate the packaging of the product

  4. Package Weight* - a required field, indicate the weight of a single package

  5. Weight Unit - indicate LB or KG for the package’s weight

  6. Total Item Weight - an automatically calculated field, which takes Quantity and multiplies it by Package Weight

  7. Length* - a required field, indicate the length of a single package

  8. Width* - a required field, indicate the width of a single package

  9. Height* - a required field, indicate the height of a single package

  10. Measurement Unit - indicate IN or CM for the package’s dimensions

  11. Freight Class* - a required field, indicate the freight class for the product

  12. Number of Pieces - an optional field, indicate the number of pieces within a single package of product

  13. Piece Type - an optional field, indicate the type of piece within a single package of product

  14. NMFC Code - an optional field, indicate the NMFC Code for the product

  15. NMFC Sub Code - an optional field, indicate the NMFC Sub Code for the product

  16. Value per Piece ($) - an optional field, indicate the value per piece

  17. Country of Manufacture - an optional field, choose from the dropdown if applicable.

  18. Stackable - an optional field, check the box if the packages are stackable

  19. Hazmat - an optional field, check the box if the packages are hazmat

  • If the Hazmat field is checked, a required field will populate underneath, for the user to enter the package’s hazmat code.

  1. Add Item - if there are multiple shipping items on the LTL shipment, click “Add Item” and complete the above information again.

  1. Once all information has been completed, click the “Submit” button at the bottom right. This will submit the shipment for booking to the Shipwell platform user.
