Shipwell allows for customers to create customized Shipping / Pallet Labels and allow these to be generated automatically or on demand within Shipwell. Currently, Shipping / Pallet Label functionality is turned on by customer request. Reach out to your Shipwell Customer Service Representative if you want Shipping / Pallet Label generation functionality turned on for your account.

1. Create and Manage Your Shipping / Pallet Label Template

Shipwell’s Shipping / Pallet labels provide a user the flexibility to establish multiple versions of labels but can only have one version active at any given time. You can manage your ‘Labels’ in the same ‘Templates’ area that you manage your BOL and Rate Confirmation templates.

You can manage the following for each of your ‘Labels’:

  • Label name and description

  • Label Company Logo (optional)

  • Consignee Information (Company name, Contact name, Contact phone number)

  • Shipper Information (Company name, Contact name, Contact phone number)

  • Reference Details (Carrier, BOL Number, PO Number, Carrier Reference #, Shipment ID #)

  • Product Details (Product description, Product weight, Hazmat contact and phone)

  • Label Generation

    • Never automatically generate or generate when a carrier is confirmed for a shipment created

    • # of Labels per Handling Unit

    • Label size (Continuous 4” x 6”, Continuous 6” x 8”, or 4 per page - 3.5” x 5”)

Note as long as there is a PRO # for a Shipment then when the shipping labels are printed then it will display the bar code with Code 128 format. If there is no PRO # for a shipment then it will print a message Place PRO # Label Here.

Note customized Shipping / Pallet Labels are only for non-parcel shipments (e.g. LTL, VLTL) within Shipwell. For parcel shipments we generate Shipping Labels per the specifications of each parcel carrier.

2. Generate Your Shipping / Pallet Label Template

Once you have finalized your label layout then when you go into any shipment and in the shipment detail’s Actions panel you can generate your shipping label based on your template that is active. Note it will turn a lighter grey when it is processing.

When your labels have been generated then they will populate in the preview window.

The shipping labels will also be viewable in your documents.

If data changes on a shipment and you want to regenerate labels with updated data then you can do so and both versions of labels will be present. You will see when the labels were generated and just choose the most recent label to use.
