This guide outlines the steps to cancel a routing guide workflow within the Shipwell platform. There are two important things to remember:

  1. Canceling a workflow only stops it from running further. Actions already initiated by the workflow will not be reversed.

  2. If you need to cancel actions from a completed or partially completed workflow step, you'll have to do so manually.

Here's how to cancel a routing guide workflow:

  1. Find the desired shipment: Locate the shipment for which you want to cancel the workflow. You can search for it using various methods within Shipwell.

  2. Click on "Workflows": Once you've identified the shipment, navigate to its details page and find the "Workflows" section.

  3. Click "Cancel Workflow": Within the "Workflows" section, you should see an option to "Cancel Workflow". Click on this button.

Important Note: Clicking "Cancel Workflow" will only stop the workflow from executing further steps. Any actions already taken by the workflow, such as tendering a shipment to a carrier, will not be automatically reversed. Additionally, if a carrier is manually assigned or assigned via the API, the workflow will NOT stop running and will need to be stopped manually.

Cancelling Actions from Completed Workflow Steps:

If you need to reverse actions initiated by a workflow step that has already completed or begun processing, you'll need to handle those cancellations manually. Here are two examples:

  • Tender Cancellation: If the workflow has already tendered your shipment to a carrier, you'll need to navigate to the "Bids" section and revoke the tenders manually.

  • Loadboard Removal: If the workflow placed your shipment on the loadboard, you'll need to manually remove it from the loadboard.

In Summary:

Canceling a routing guide workflow in Shipwell is a straightforward process. However, it's crucial to understand that this action only stops the workflow and doesn't undo any steps it has already taken. For reversing actions from completed workflow steps, you'll need to take additional manual steps within the platform.
