Auto Quote and Tender for LTL Shipments

Users have the ability to set up a Routing Guide for LTL shipments that will automatically initiate rating when the shipment is created and then dispatch the shipment to the lowest cost LTL carrier. From the Routing Guide creation screen, if the only mode selected for the routing guide is Less Than Truckload, the user will have an option when setting up actions to select Quote & Tender.

Next, the user should include all of the LTL carriers that should be considered on this lane. For example, if the customer has set up 10 LTL carriers in their shipping network, they can select a subset of the 10 for this lane. If they choose 4 carriers, when the automated rating process runs, only those 4 carriers will be considered and the system will automatically dispatch the shipment to the least cost option of the 4 carriers.

Enabling the Shipment Created Trigger on the routing guide will allow the system to automatically start the rating and dispatching process as soon as the shipment is created. This will happen regardless of how the shipment is created in the system, whether it was manually created, or imported via the shipment API or CSV importer.

While the Auto Quote & Tender process is running, the user will see the routing guide status on the shipment details Workflows tab.

Once the process has been completed, the shipment will be updated with the lowest cost carrier assigned and dispatched. The shipment status will be updated to Carrier Confirmed, the Carrier will be assigned to the shipment, and the financial details will be updated.

The rates for the carriers listed in the routing guide will also be viewable from the shipment Rates tab.
