Shopflo's gibberish detection feature flags and blocks nonsensical address entries at checkout β before an order is placed. This helps reduce RTO (Return to Origin) orders caused by invalid or undeliverable addresses that customers enter knowingly or by mistake.
What Is Gibberish Detection?
When a customer types a string like "sdfsdsdfsdfdfdf, Goa" into the address field, the order gets created but the shipment has nowhere to go β resulting in an automatic RTO. Gibberish detection catches these inputs in real time and prompts the customer to correct their address before they can proceed. This is one of several RTO-reduction tools available in Shopflo's checkout.
How to Enable Gibberish Detection
Step 1: Navigate to Flo Checkout and click on RTO under the Manage section.
Step 2: Scroll to the bottom of the RTO page to find the Gibberish Detection section. Click the toggle to enable it.
Step 3: Set the detection sensitivity level. Choose how aggressively Shopflo should flag suspicious address inputs.
We recommend setting the sensitivity to Balanced β this catches clear gibberish entries while still allowing genuine addresses with unusual formatting to go through.
