How to create a new announcement, edit a template, and edit an announcement.

Create a new announcement

1. Click "NEW ANNOUNCEMENT"
("New announcement" is for creating a new announcement on the software. Use "Upload" to upload a complete announcement that you would like to display)

2. Enter the announcement name.
Choose if this is a one-time announcement or an announcement that you would like to be created for you recurrently by Parsha, Chodesh etc.

3. Choose the frequency that the announcement should be automatically created by.

  • By Parsha does not get created for Yom Tovim to allow for Yom Tov specific announcements.

  • Weekly gets created every single week without stopped for Yom Tov

  • Chodesh is based on hebrew calendar

  • Monthly is based on english calendar

4. Choose the day that you would like this week's announcement (or day of month for month) to start displaying and for last week's announcement to stop displaying.

(Thursday is most common for announcements that are intended for Shabbos)

5. Choose if you would like each week's announcement to automatically display. Either way, you can change each week's display settings separately at any time.

6. Click "CREATE" and you've created your first announcement!

Editing the template

7. The screen will continue to edit the template.

  • Each recurring announcement has a template that each week's announcement is copied from.

  • Editing the template will edit future weekly announcements that haven't been touched yet.

  • Obviously, editing one week's announcement will not edit any other week's announcements.

8. Let's add a background.
Click "Insert Smartchips" and click "Background"

9. Add a background

10. Click "נדבת הרב הנגיד"

11. Click here

12. Click here

13. Click "SAVE" to save your template!
You will now have this announcement ready for you every week.

Editing an announcement

14. Choose the parsha (chodesh etc.) that you would like to edit.

15. Edit the announcement like on any document editor.

16. Hooray "SAVE" !

17. Additional actions you can do:

  • Download or email announcement

  • "Refresh announcement" will delete any changes done to this week's announcements and restore it to an exact copy of the template

  • "Edit template" opens the template for editing (future announcements that haven't been edited will to updated)

  • Open GoDaven to edit your davening schedule

  • Or clone the announcement
