How do I upload content via FTPS?

FTPS is a great way to upload many video clips at a time

Updated over 6 months ago

File Transfer Protocol Secure (FTPS) is one way for Shutterstock contributors to transfer files from their computer to our servers. Although video content can also be uploaded via the web, FTPS is a great way to transfer a large number of video clips at one time.

When it comes to FTPS, there are both free and paid programs available to be used at your discretion. Some of the free options include FileZilla, Cyberduck and WinSCP. Here are instructions for using each.

FileZilla Upload Instructions

Step 1: Download and install FileZilla by going to: https://filezilla-project.org/download.php?type=client

Step 2: Open FileZilla and click Site Manager on the top left-hand corner. In the General tab, enter the following:

  • Host: ftps.shutterstock.com

  • Port: 21

  • Encryption: “Use explicit FTP over TLS if available”

  • Logon Type: Normal
