Impressions Cap

How to Use Impressions Cap

Updated this week

Impressions Cap is a Sid feature that lets you control how many times your ads are shown to a single company within a 30-day period. This prevents your ads from over-delivering to just a few companies, often the largest or most active, and ensures your entire audience gets fair exposure.

Why Use Impressions Cap?

Without a cap, a large portion of your ad impressions may get concentrated on companies that are already highly engaged. This limits your overall audience reach and can waste your ad budget.

By using Impressions Cap, you can:

  • Maximize reach by distributing impressions evenly across your audience

  • Ensure balanced exposure to all targeted companies

  • Avoid wasting impressions on companies that have already seen your ads frequently

How It Works

  • Set a monthly impression limit per company (e.g., 100 impressions).

  • Once a company reaches this limit, it's automatically excluded from seeing your ads for the rest of the month.

  • After 30 days, the cap resets automatically, and all companies become eligible again.

This ensures your campaigns keep moving toward broader, more efficient reach every month.

How to Set Your Impressions Cap

  1. Go to your Performance Breakdown page.

  2. Click on Impressions Cap in the top-right corner.

  3. Enter your desired monthly impression limit per company.

  4. Save your settings.

You can adjust or remove your cap at any time.

Sid’s Recommendation

To get the best results, we suggest this simple rule:

Set your monthly Impressions Cap just below your current delivery peak.

For example:

  • If your 6th-highest company received 118 impressions last month, set your cap to 100.

This ensures your top companies don’t dominate your impressions, helping you maintain balanced exposure across your entire audience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not at this time. The Impressions Cap applies the same limit across your entire target list, but you can manually exclude specific companies if needed.
