Loanapp has some great functionality that allows you to nominate people other than yourself (eg your support staff) who can 'participate' in your Loanapp submission.
If you add someone as a Participant on your submission, this means:
they can login and view your application
they can edit/work on your application
they can upload/work on your supporting documents
they can receive Info Requests from you or your Lender (Requests for more Info)
the cannot submit your application
You cannot add Participants to any of your applications until they are setup with their own Profiles in your Loanapp organisation (your brokerage).
This article takes you through how to setup a support person in your Loanapp so that you can then take advantage of this functionality.
How to Setup your Support Staff
π€ For the purposes of this article, I am Bob Broker.
When you are invited by a Lender to use Loanapp for submissions, this will mean that you can login to Loanapp. When you login, go to Organisation/Entities:
You will see the details of your own Entity (Brokerage).
(Mighty Mortgages in this example)
You will have View only access of your Entity:
To add a Support Staff to your entity, navigate to the "Users for this Entity" section at the bottom and expand it:
You will see your Profile.
(Bob Broker in this example)
(If you happen to have other brokers in your entity, you will also be able to see their profiles listed)
Add a Support Staff Profile
To add a Support Staff profile, click on the +ADD button:
This will take you to a new User Profile screen:
User Type: Broker Support Officer
You will need to set the User Type to Broker Support Officer. This will be the only option that you have to choose. (As a broker, you can only setup/add/remove Users that are Type: Broker Support Officer)
Status: Active
Set the Status to Active. This will send an invitation to your Support Officer to complete their login credentials.
Add Support person's details
You will then want to add the support persons:
name
email
mobile
Click SAVE
When you have entered the required detail. click SAVE:
This will have established this User as a member of your organisation (brokerage); and they will have the Broker Support Officer rights to participate in your Loanapp submissions.
Note: if your Support Officer has been invited, they won't be able to login until they have finalised their credentials.
Your Support Officer will receive a welcome email
When you click SAVE, Loanapp will send your support officer an invitation to finalise their login credentials.
Your Support Officer should 'click here' (per the message). They will be taken to a screen to set a password:
And once set, they will be taken back to the login screen. Their login will be their email + the password they have just set.
Note that Loanapp requires multi-factor authentication for security. Your Support Officer will need to add 2FA authenticator credentials for their Loanapp profile:
For more on how to setup 2FA, click here.
What this now means for your Broker Support Officer
When they login, your Broker Support Officer will be able to see all of your applications where you add them as a participant.
They will be able to work on the deals, and also to be included in Missing Information Requests from Lenders.
β οΈ Note your Broker Support staff will only see the applications that you add them to. ie - you need to add Support staff per application when you set it up.
How to add your Support Officer to your applications
On the Setup screen of any Loanapp record, you are able to add your Broker Support Officer as a "Participant" to the application. To do this, go to the Setup page of your application, and go to the "Participants" section:
You will see in the Manage Participants two sections: Applicant Management, and Applicants. Your details will already be populated in Application Management:
To add your Support Officer to this application, click the ADD+ button in Application Management:
You will be able to then add a Participant Type of Broker Support Officer:
And then select the Broker Support Officer you would like to have access to your deal:
This will mean that when Sarah logs in, with her own credentials, she will be able to see your application for Mary & John Smith:
