Loanapp is the digital application for submitting mortgage applications to Teachers Mutual and their associated brands.

Teachers Mutual (and their associated brands Firefighters Mutual, Unibank and Health Professionals) have the Loanapp configuration and functionality outlined in this article.

Please read through to understand the general experience for both you and your applicants.

The Teachers Mutual Loanapp is configured to capture all the data that Teachers Mutual require to process and approve a loan application.

The first page in Loanapp is the Setup Page - this is where you enter all the high-level detail about the application, and also add in your Applicants. On the side is a menu which allows you to click through to other sections in the application:

You can work through each of the sections of the application by clicking either on the side menu, or the navigation buttons at the top and bottom of each page.

Note that if you have launched Loanapp from your Aggregator CRM, all of the data in your Aggregator CRM will have transferred into the relevant fields in Loanapp.

For a full run through of completing data capture and the sections of Loanapp, please click here.

Digital Services

The Teachers Mutual (and brands) Loanapp have a number of digital services built into it, which you can choose to use when creating your application submission. The digital services that are available are:

  • Digital Consent

  • Digital Verification of Identity

  • Credit Bureau Check

Digital Consent

The Digital Consent is the only service that is mandatory in the Teachers Mutual (and brands) configuration. ie - you will NOT be able to submit until the Digital Consent is completed by your applicants. Further, you will find that you cannot order other Digital Services like Digital ID Verification until your applicants have completed consent.

The Digital Consent widget is found on the Applicants page, and will be triggered when you have completed all the Applicants personal details, and you click away from the Applicants page (eg continue to the Financial Position page):

For a full run through of the Digital Consent workflow and what your Applicants can expect, please click here.

Digital Verification of Identity

The Digital Verification of Identity is an optional service that you can use in Loanapp to verify your Applicant's identity. Note that if you choose not to use this, you will need to provide other proof of Identity Documents and Teachers Mutual may require you to do extra work once you have submitted.

The Digital ID Verification widget is found at the bottom of the Applicants page. If you click on the widget you will be able to 'request' this service for your Applicant/s:

Once you have requested the service, the Widget will send the request to your applicant/s. For a full run through of the Digital Verification of Identity Service, the experience for your Applicant/s, and what happens in Loanapp, click here.

Credit Bureau Check

An Equifax Credit Bureau Report can be ordered from within Loanapp. This is an optional service.

Note that:

  • if you DO order this service, the widget status will change to 'Completed', but you will not see the report outcome (it is for Lenders eyes only)

  • if you DON'T order this service, Teachers Mutual will order it once you submit

Selecting your Product

Loanapp is powered by a Products Engine that can be updated at any time by Teachers Mutual. This means that the Products, Rates, Fees and product features will always be correct in Loanapp.

You will select your Product (or Products) in the Loan & Serviceability section:

Note that Loanapp has some great functionality that filters the products so that they match the data that you have entered into the application. eg if you select Interest Type: Variable and Payment Type: P&I - you will only get product variations with these features.

If you don't see the product you are after...it will most likely be because your data needs to be reviewed.

For more information on Product Filtering, please click here.

Note that Teachers Mutual (and brands) allows you to request Split Loans on the same application.

Checking Serviceability

You can check the Serviceability on your application in the Loan & Serviceability section:

Serviceability is 'live'...if you change any of the Loanapp data and return to the Serviceability section, it will re-calculate based on your changed data.

The Compliance Section

The Compliance section is a set of 'interview' questions that capture more information about your Applicant/s understanding of their application, preferences, retirement plans and other important compliance details.

Note that most of this section is mandatory and must be completed in order to submit.

The Summary Page

The Summary Page captures all of your application data on one page for quick review. If you notice anything that needs to be updated, an edit button on each section clicks you back through to the relevant area so that you can update the detail:

Documents (Print Forms)

The next section will present to you any Application or Print Forms that are available to generate for your application. Print Forms can have conditional logic set on them so that they only appear when required. For instance, the Membership Form should only appear when your applicant is not yet a Member and needs to complete this form.

You are able to generate and download each of these forms, send to your applicants for completion and then attach to your supporting documents.

Submission

The final section is the Submission section. You will note at the bottom of the page 3 action buttons:

Generate Document Checklist

This button will generate your supporting documents checklist on a new tab. The supporting documents checklist will be on the left, and you will upload your documents on the right, to then drag across to the checklist items on the left:

For a full run through of the supporting documents functionality, please click here.

Request Supporting Documents

This is some great functionality that you can optionally use to send a request to your applicant/s to upload required supporting documents. When you press this button, is will automatically send a message to your applicant/s to login to the secure portal and upload any documents that you still need.

Note that the applicant/s will only be asked for:

  • any documents that particular applicant needs to provide

  • any document that you have not yet currently satisfied on the checklist

ie - if you have completed the checklist already, with only 1 document left for Applicant A to provide, when you press this button, only Applicant A will get the request to upload the document.

When you press this button, the Info Request section will open on a new tab and list the 'requests' that have been sent to your applicant/s. In the following screen shot, the Broker, Sam Test and Jane Test all still need to provide a document to complete the checklist:

You can toggle on the Admin/Client toggle to switch the view so that you can see what your Applicants will see when they login:

If you use this functionality, and an applicant uploads and submits a required document, it will be able to sent straight to the checklist to be used to submit to Teachers Mutual.

For more detail about the Info Request functionality, click here.

Proceed (Submit Application)

When you are ready (completed the application and attached all your supporting docs) - you can submit the application to Teachers Mutual. When you do, you be directed to the final page in Loanapp that confirms successful submission:

Note that there are some 'click-throughs' on this page to Simpology Manager, which is your 'homepage' within Simpology - where you can access all your applications and check on the status of the assessment.

After you have submitted

Once you have submitted, if you open your Loanapp again you will note that you can view all of the sections but they are now not able to be edited.

You should also understand that Teachers Mutual are using Simpology Manager not only for Loanapp lodgements but also for assessment. When you submit, your application submits into the "assessment" version and is picked up by the Teachers Mutual team for assessment.

Simpology Manager

As a broker partner of Teachers Mutual (and brands), you are able to log in to their "Simpology Manager" at any time to check on the status of your deal. (You will get an invite, your login will be your email, and you will need to set a password).

When you login, you will land on the Application Grid which is your doorway back into the application; and also connected to the Teachers Mutual Assessment activities.

For your submitted application, you can see the status, and have some controls to re-open Loanapp, and check on assessment status:

You can also click through to the Supporting documents and Information Request sections, which can be useful if you want to work in these sections without opening Loanapp.

Getting Missing Information Requests from Teachers Mutual

During assessment, the Teachers team might need to send a request through to you for more information/a missing document. The Teachers team will use the Info Request functionality - here is an example of how they will raise the request to you:

This will send a request that is basically the same functionality as the Information Request you might have used to request documents from your applicant.

You will receive an invitation via email to login to review the request ie:

When you login (it will be the same email and password as for Simpology Manager), you will be able to see the request:

If you click on it to open, you can review the request, add information or upload a document, and submit straight back to the Teachers assessment team.
