Job vs. Visit

Understand the difference between a job and a visit and why visits are what you schedule on the calendar.

The term "Job" in SingleOps is used to describe the entire collection of information and associated work to be performed for a Client. The term "Visit" is used to describe a single stop at a specific location during which work will be performed. A Job could have just one Visit or many depending on the scope of the Job. The major difference between the two is that Visits are what a SingleOps User schedules on the Calendar. A Job will not be scheduled but the Visit or Visits for that Job will be.

How many Visits does a Job have?

This will depend on the scope of work to be performed and whether the Job is a One-Off or Recurring. For instance, a Job which includes a single tree removal would typically be a One-Off Job and will likely only have one Visit. It will likely only be necessary to go to the Client's address one time. A Job which includes both the tree removal and a stump grind may require two Visits if the stump grind service needs to be performed on a different day.

A Recurring Job will always have multiple Visits associated with it. This is common for plant healthcare treatments as well as any lawn maintenance or grass cutting Jobs. A Job created for one of these scenarios could last months with dozens of Visits.
