Halftime Mode

Get coaching in real time with halftime mode

Written by Ethan Peterson-New

Halftime Mode is a real-time coaching experience in the Siro mobile app and web browser that helps you during live appointments. Instead of waiting until after the conversation, Halftime gives you structured support during natural breaks to help you close more deals.

When Halftime Becomes Available

Halftime becomes available after 3-4 minutes of meaningful conversation during a recording. You'll receive a notification when Halftime is ready, or you can open the Siro app while recording to check.

How to Access Halftime

On mobile:

  1. Open the Siro mobile app during a natural break (walking the home, grabbing tools from the truck, etc.)

  2. Opening the app while recording takes you straight to the Halftime screen — there is no separate mode to tap into

  3. Review the Halftime Report and ask any questions you need

  4. Return to your appointment with a clear plan

You can open, close, and refresh Halftime multiple times while your recording continues.

On web:

On web, the Halftime panel opens on the right side of the screen as soon as recording starts. If you navigate to another page in the Siro web app, the recorder collapses into a compact indicator at the top of the left sidebar — that indicator shows your timer and quick controls, but not Halftime. Click its expand icon (⤢) to return to the full recording view and pick your Halftime Report back up.

The report and chat work the same way as on mobile. On web, whether the panel opens when you start recording follows your organization's setting. If you then change the conversation type during the recording, that type's Halftime setting takes over — so switching type can close, open or restart the panel. See Enabling Halftime below.

For more on the sidebar indicator and navigating during a web recording, see Recording on Web (Desktop).

What You'll See in Halftime

Halftime provides a tailored report based on your conversation so far. Which sections you see depends on how your organization has configured Halftime for the type of conversation you're recording — so the same rep can get a differently-structured report on a sales appointment than on a service call. By default you'll see:

Customer Needs

A summary of key pain points, priorities, and details the customer has shared. No more forgetting what they said 20 minutes ago.

Guidance

Missed discovery steps, process gaps, and objections you should address before closing.

Closing Plan

What to emphasize, how to tailor your pitch, upsell opportunities, and a clear game plan to win the sale.

If your admin has set up custom Halftime prompts for a conversation type, your report follows those instead of the three default sections above.

Generate New Halftime Report

Once the initial report has been generated and the conversation has continued for at least 5 minutes, your report will auto-regenerate and you'll see an option to generate a new report.

Asking Questions

While in Halftime Mode, you can also ask Siro questions directly by typing into the "Ask anything" box at the bottom of the panel. You can ask questions like:

  • "How should I handle the three-bid objection?"

  • "What did they say about timeline?"

  • "What upsell opportunities did I miss?"

Siro will answer based on the live conversation context.

Rating an answer

Halftime responses carry 👍 Helpful and 👎 Not helpful buttons beneath them. Tap one to tell us how the answer landed — it helps Siro improve. Tapping the same button again clears your rating. Rating works on both mobile and web, on Halftime Report content as well as on chat answers.

Best Practices

  • Use natural breaks: Access Halftime when the customer steps away, during measurements, or while building quotes

  • Keep it quick: Halftime is designed for fast resets, not extended reviews

  • Refresh as needed: Generate a new Halftime Report if the conversation has progressed significantly. On web, use the refresh button in the top-right corner of the Halftime panel; on mobile, tap "Help me close" near the bottom of the screen.

  • Stay subtle: Customers won't know you're using Halftime — it looks like you're just checking your phone

Enabling Halftime

Halftime's report contents are configured at the Conversation Type level by your organization admin — the prompts behind your report, and therefore which sections it contains. That means two conversation types in the same organization can produce differently-structured Halftime reports.

Whether Halftime is available at all is set for your whole organization. A conversation type can additionally opt out of Halftime. On web, the Halftime panel opens based on your organization's setting when recording starts; if you then pick a conversation type during the recording, that type's Halftime setting applies, and switching type can close, open or restart the panel (clearing any earlier Halftime chat and report).

Troubleshooting

  • Halftime mode is only available after 3-4 minutes of recorded content. This typically means there must be 3-4 minutes worth of transcribed conversation rather than 3-4 minutes of recording time.

  • Stable cellular service or internet is required for halftime mode to work

  • If you don't see the Halftime panel at all, Halftime may be switched off for your organization — check with your admin.
