How to Prepare Your Data

Exporting from Photogrammetry Software

We currently support importing images using the BlocksExchange XML format. BlocksExchange XML is an open exchange standard designed for importing and exporting block definitions in photogrammetry and 3D reconstruction software. It is specifically used to transfer data such as camera positions and calibrations.

Here are some helpful guides to walk you through exporting XML files from photogrammetry software:

Note: During photogrammetry processing, selected images may undergo adjustments for alignment. These aligned images determine the 3D points of the model based on calculations derived from the 2D images. Consequently, the aligned images might differ from the originals.

To ensure accurate alignment with the processed model, please export the images along with the XML file after completing the alignment process. This guarantees that the exported images correspond with your processed model.

πŸ“ We plan to expand our support for camera position and orientation exported from more software, including PIX4D and DJI Terra. If you're interested in this or using other software, please let us know. Your feedback is essential in guiding our development efforts.

Using the Skand Add-On Service

Alternatively, you can provide geo-referenced images to Skand. Our team will generate a 3D Tiles model with aligned images for you.
