Can I apply to study a course that is not listed in the priority learning areas?

Yes, but we recommend you also consider whether the priority learning areas are suitable for you.

The priority learning areas are fields of study that participating universities are willing to accept students into, and that lead to the skills needed for high demand occupations in Australia. Skill Path aims to ensure a significant proportion of selected students are moving into the fields below, however we are open to students selecting other fields as long as they are needed in Australia, available at participating universities and likely to result in full-time employment after graduation.

Applicants are encouraged to select any that align with their previous study and future career goals. Applicants are also welcome to select other domains of interest. So if you are interested in political science, philosophy, psychology or any other field that is not in our priority list - you are welcome to do so. Just please make it clear in your motivation letter why this domain is the path for you.
