When you buy an item through Player to Player (P2P), the order often starts with a Pending status. This simply means the seller still needs to send the trade offer. Nothing is wrong and nothing is delayed on your side.
P2P items come from external sellers, including Chinese marketplace sellers, so the system waits for them to either send the skin or cancel the order.
Example:
How long does it stay Pending?
It depends on the Seller themselves, you’ll also see the average delivery time on your purchase, which gives a good idea of how fast that seller normally sends items.
What happens next?
Seller sends the item:
Your order updates automatically to show the incoming trade offer. All you need to do is accept it on Steam.
Seller cancels the order:
The purchase will instantly refund back to your balance. There’s nothing you need to do.
Should I worry about Pending?
No. Pending is completely normal for P2P purchases. The order is just waiting for the seller to act. If it ever stays pending longer than the average delivery time, you can cancel it yourself after 1 hour or wait for the seller to respond and send the trade.
