This article is a rolling list of SkyTab Workforce product updates, including new features and bug fixes.


Wednesday 5th March 2025

Managers can now choose whether to display employee first and last name or legal name on the Scheduler.

Pay by option on Overtime page

When an employee has worked in different positions with different pay rates across an overtime period, companies can now choose to calculate the overtime in one of two ways:

  • Hours worked

    • In this payment method, overtime is calculated directly based on the pay rate for the hours worked in overtime.

  • Regular rate of pay

    • In this payment method, overtime is calculated based on the average pay rate for the period.

Minor UI change to make the days of the week abbreviations more visible on calendars across the app.


Wednesday 22nd January 2025

All timecards can now be manually edited directly in Workforce to add cash tips where the position worked is eligible for cash tips.


Friday 10th January 2025

Fix rolled out to an issue where some users were seeing a 'Your app needs an update' error on the desktop app.


Tuesday 3rd December 2024

Employees can now edit their first name, last name, and phone number on the Workforce mobile app.


Wednesday 27th November 2024

A fix has been implemented to the filters used at the top of the Timecards page.

This fix improves both the search performance, as well as improving the values being shown in the various filters.


Tuesday 26th November 2024

Employee start day of time is now being synced from Lighthouse Business Manager into Workforce.

Start day of time is used in compliance calculations, such as calculating daily overtime.


Monday 25th November 2024

Users can now select which language to view the desktop version of Workforce in! Choose between Spanish, French, and English.

Language selection is also available on the mobile app.


Wednesday 20th November 2024

Managers may now update first name, last name, phone number and email address on the desktop app for employees who have not yet connected their accounts.

Once employees have activated their Workforce accounts, managers will not be able to update these fields. Employees will need to update these attributes themselves.

Changes will not be synced back to Lighthouse Business Manager.

A new timecards sub-permission has been introduced. Previously, all managers who had the Manage Timecards permission had access to all timecards, including their own.

Now, a sub-permission is available to indicate if managers may perform actions against their own timecards.

This is toggled on by default. If toggled off, managers will be able to view their own timecards, but will not be able to create, edit, or delete them.

Employee Contact Tracing report has been removed.


Monday 28th October 2024

When employees activate their account on the mobile app, they are now able to edit all fields (e.g. first name, last name, email address) to ensure they are accurate. Previously, only blank fields were able to be edited.


Thursday 26th September 2024

Wording against each of the Attendance settings has been updated to better reflect the setting.


Thursday 5th September 2024

Emojis are now supported in the notes field when creating / editing / actioning an availability request using the mobile app.


Tuesday 3rd September 2024

Implemented changes to our availability solution.

Previously managers could create availability on behalf of an employee, but this required employee approval before it was considered 'live'.

Now when managers create availability for an employee, the availability set will be instantly set live, provided it does not conflict with one of the employee's existing availability or unavailability sets.

Changes to existing availability sets will continue to require approval.

Timecards can now be exported for Heartland Payroll.

Changes to permissions and access levels.

Administrators may now change manager permissions directly within Workforce.

Managers may also be upgraded to administrators, giving full access to Workforce features.

Implemented a new change log to give users better visibility of changes to the Workforce app. Simply click on the version number in the top righthand corner to view recent changes.

Update to default filter on Sales vs Labor report from 'Scheduled Labor' to 'Actual Labor' (mobile app).

The default value on a filter on the Sales vs Labor Cost report has been updated. Previously, the report defaulted to a "scheduled labor" filter, which caused issues and confusion for users not utilizing Workforce for scheduling. The default filter is now set to "actual labor", providing more accurate data representation for all users.

Fix for location name disappearing on Workforce main menu.

An issue has been resolved where the location name would sporadically disappear from the top left corner of the Workforce Dashboard for users navigating from Lighthouse Business Manager. This issue sometimes affected the display of timecards and scheduling data, making it appear as though there was no data available. This fix ensures the location name consistently displays, preventing any disruption in data presentation.
