How to Place a Custom Tasking

This support article explains how a HUB user can place a Custom Tasking order.

Updated this week

Before reading through the ordering steps in this article, we recommend users to review the support article on what a custom tasking is and how it differs from a standard SkyWatch tasking order.

Note: Custom tasking includes additional tasking options (“Alternate Configurations”) for Pleiades-Neo 30cm, Pleiades 50cm, and SkySat 50cm. Airbus Elevation 50cm and 1m products are now also available for tasking with custom parameters.

How to Place an Order

  • Log onto HUB and click on "Order New".

  • Input the area of interest (AOI), dates, and select one of the three optical sources (Pleiades, Pleiades-Neo, SkySat), or the Elevation data type.

  • If the source that you selected has the SkyWatch Standard or an alternate configuration the “Ordering Options” section will appear. Select the "Alternate Configurations" option to choose your custom parameters. A description about the option will appear underneath the drop-down menu.

  • If you selected Elevation, select your source and DEM option, and then proceed to the “Advanced Settings”.

  • In the "Advanced Settings" users will have access to the additional custom parameters for the order. The parameters will vary depending on the selected source but may include:

    • Max Cloud Cover (note if you are wanting the maximum to be 5% or 0% the user will have to reach out directly to the HUB org SkyWatch Account Manager).

    • Geometric Processing level

    • Projection

    • Spectral Band Combination

    • Product Format

    • Pixel coding

    • Radiometric Processing

  • Once all the desired parameters have been selected, click "Add To Cart". The user can proceed to cart, assign their project, and click "Order Now".

Note: Custom tasking does offer HUB users more options in data format, processing, and projection. However, the data will not be compatible with some HUB features such as DirectView, WMTS, and Add to Map.
