How much you need to deposit to open and trade a Slay Markets account, and the rules on where your funds must come from.
There is no minimum deposit required to open a Slay Markets account — you can open it with $0. To fund your account and place your first trade, a minimum of $50 is required, which covers the intraday margin for one micro equity-index contract such as MES, MYM, or M2K (MNQ requires $100). All deposits must come from a bank account, card, or account held in your own name; third-party deposits are not accepted under any circumstances.
What is the minimum deposit to open and fund a Slay Markets account?
There is no minimum deposit required to open a Slay Markets account — you can open it with $0. A minimum of $50 is required to fund your account and place a first trade, because $50 covers the intraday margin for one micro equity-index contract (MES, MYM, or M2K — each $50 intraday margin per contract; MNQ is $100). To trade full-size E-mini contracts (ES, NQ, YM, RTY), you need the intraday margin for that contract: ES, YM, and RTY each require $500 and NQ requires $1,000. Slay Markets recommends a starting balance of $500 or more for active micro trading so you have a buffer above the bare minimum margin.
The table below summarizes the Slay Markets deposit minimum for each scenario. The margin figures are set by NinjaTrader Clearing, LLC and the exchanges; for the full per-product list, see Margin Requirements by Product.
Scenario | Minimum |
To open a Slay Markets account | No minimum — $0 |
To fund your account and start trading micro contracts (MES, MYM, M2K) | $50 ($50 intraday margin per contract; MNQ is $100) |
To trade full-size E-mini contracts (ES, NQ, YM, RTY) | $500 intraday margin per contract for ES, YM, and RTY; $1,000 for NQ |
Recommended starting balance for active micro trading | $500+ (provides buffer above minimum margin) |
Why should I fund above the minimum margin on Slay Markets?
Funding a Slay Markets account at exactly the minimum margin leaves no room for adverse price moves. If the market moves against you by even a small amount, your account can go into a margin call. For active micro trading, a buffer of 2–3× the minimum margin — a starting balance of $500 or more — is a safer starting point than the $50 bare minimum.
Can someone else fund my Slay Markets account? Third-party deposit rules
All deposits into a Slay Markets account must come from a bank account, card, or account held in the account holder's own name. Third-party deposits — including from a spouse, family member, or business account — are not accepted under any circumstances and are returned, per AML (anti-money-laundering) requirements that Tradeify Brokerage LLC d/b/a Slay Markets is obligated to follow. Only Individual Cash Accounts are offered, so funds must match the single account holder.
Funding sources that are NOT permitted on a Slay Markets account:
Deposits from a bank account held by another individual — including family members.
Deposits from a business account to a personal trading account.
Cash, money orders, or cryptocurrency transfers.
Wire transfers initiated on your behalf by a third party.
Funding sources that ARE permitted on a Slay Markets account:
Deposits from your own personal bank account, card, or account (account holder name must match).
A payout from Tradeify (the separate Tradeify futures prop trading firm) routed directly to your Slay Markets brokerage account.
If Slay Markets receives a deposit from a source that does not match the account holder's name, the deposit will be returned and the account may be reviewed for compliance. Do not ask a third party to fund your account.
Is there a maximum deposit limit on Slay Markets?
Slay Markets sets no maximum deposit limit for wire transfers — you can fund any amount by wire. ACH (bank transfer) deposits, however, may be subject to transaction limits set by your own bank and account history, so the ACH limit is bank-specific rather than a fixed Slay Markets number. If you need to confirm whether a specific deposit amount will go through before you send it, contact support@slaymarkets.com before initiating the transfer. For how long each method takes to post, see Deposit and Withdrawal Timelines.
