šŸ” Understanding Account Ownership and Data Access in SLP Toolkit (V1)

At SLP Toolkit, it's important that our users understand who owns the account—and the data within it—based on how the subscription was purchased. Here’s a breakdown of what that looks like depending on the type of purchase:

šŸ›’ In-App Purchases (Self-Serve)

If a subscription is purchased directly through the app using a credit card:

  • Account ownership is tied to the user name and email address of the individual whose name and email address is listed on the subscription at set up.

  • The person who enters the credit card information is not considered the owner, unless it’s the same person as the account holder.

  • Licenses are non-transferable — the subscription belongs to the named account holder and cannot be moved to someone else.

šŸ“Œ Example: If a supervisor purchases a subscription using their credit card but enters their team member’s name and email, the team member owns the account—not the credit card holder.

🧾 Purchases Through Our Sales Department (e.g., School Districts)

If the subscription is arranged through our sales team (typically by a school district):

  • The owner of the account is designated by the representative who sets up the purchase (owners are usually a school district or company vs. an individual).

  • A designated account representative is assigned to manage users and has administrative access to all account data.

  • Licenses can be transferred between users within the organization as needed (e.g., when staffing changes occur).

šŸ“Œ Example: A district purchases 10 licenses and assigns them to specific staff. If a staff member leaves, the license can be reassigned to a new employee by the district’s account representative.
