Steps to Create a New Catalogue: Step 1 - General

Updated over 5 months ago

Creating course catalogues in Smart Arena is useful for organizing and managing e-learning content effectively. Catalogues allow administrators to group related courses into specific categories, making it easier for learners to navigate and access the training they need. This approach enhances the learning experience by ensuring that users only see the most relevant content while streamlining the process for administrators to manage course availability and enrollment.

To create a new Catalogue go to Catalogue list tab under Course catalogues in the navigation menu. On this page, there is a list of all created catalogues.

Creating a new catalogue

To create a new catalogue, click the blue Create a new catalogue button. To see enrolled users, click Show enrolled users.

Step 1: General information

The General step is the first phase in creating a new catalogue in Smart Arena. These settings allow you to define the basic details and availability of your catalogue before moving forward. Follow these instructions to complete this step:

Catalogue Description

  • Plan Name: Enter the name of the catalogue (e.g., "Safety Training Plan").

  • Plan Description: Provide a brief description of the catalogue to outline its purpose or contents.

Catalogue Duration

Specify the start date for when the catalogue becomes active. Specify the end date for when the catalogue will no longer be available. If there’s no expiration planned, leave this field empty.

Catalogue Status

Select the catalogue status from the dropdown menu

  • Unpublished: The catalogue is not visible to users and cannot be accessed.

  • Hidden: The catalogue is active but hidden from users; accessible only through direct links or administrative actions.

  • Published: The catalogue is active and visible to users.

Click Next to proceed to the Notifications step. Click Cancel to exit without saving your progress. For more information about the next step in the catalogue creation process, see New catalogue - Notifications.
