NOTE: Community WiFi is not available in all communities. Speak to your community manager about enabling this feature.
Community WiFi is a service that provides wireless internet access regardless of where you are in your community.
Residents follow these steps to create an account:
Log into the SmartRent app. If they don’t have a SmartRent Account, follow these steps.
Tap “More.”
Select “Community WiFi.”
Once they’re logged in, they'll be able to see the details of their plan.
Next, they tap the “Get Started” button to proceed. They should contact their property manager if they don’t see this button, as the resident may need to sign additional paperwork.
After completing the “Get Started” process, the resident will see their network name and password. They will have a default password and, while it’s not required to change it, we recommend doing so.
To customize or update the password, tap the pencil and follow the instructions.
Tap Open Device WiFi Settings to connect their phone to their new WiFi network.
If the resident is an Android user, they'll see a list of available WiFi networks that includes the new network. Select this new network and enter the corresponding password.
If the resident is an iOS user, tap WiFi, select the new network from the list of available WiFi networks, and enter the password.
Note: The password you created may have a Security Key appended to it. We recommend using the app’s Copy feature to avoid typos when connecting additional devices.
The resident's phone is now officially connected to Community WiFi!
