This error occurs because the expiration date for the driver's license stored in the 3Fund application is set to a date in the past. TaxWise relies on the 3Fund application for accurate and up-to-date driver's license information.

Solution

To resolve this error, you need to update the driver's license expiration year directly within the 3Fund application. Follow these steps:

  1. Access the 3Fund Application: Launch the 3Fund application on your computer.

  2. Locate the Taxpayer's Profile: Search for and open the profile of the taxpayer mentioned in the TaxWise error message.

  3. Navigate to Driver's License Information: Within the taxpayer's profile, find the section containing the driver's license details. This may be labeled as "Identification," "Personal Information," or similar.

  4. Edit the Expiration Date: Locate the expiration date field for the driver's license. Carefully change the year to reflect the correct and unexpired year. Ensure the month and day are also accurate.

  5. Save Changes: Save the updated information in the 3Fund application.

  6. Return to TaxWise: Close and reopen TaxWise.

  7. Re-enter Taxpayer Profile: Re-enter the Taxpayer profile.

  8. Verify Resolution: The error should now be resolved. You should be able to continue with the tax preparation process without encountering the "Driver's License Expired" error.

Important Considerations

  • Accuracy is Key: Double-check the accuracy of the new expiration date you enter. An incorrect date will cause the error to persist or potentially create other issues.
