  1. Select Bank Products

    • To deduct preparation fees from your client’s refund, select Bank Products as the return type and choose the corresponding bank.

    • For this example, choose 3Fund.

  2. Navigate to the 3F App Page

    • Go to 3F App Pg 1.

    • Note: If the page doesn’t automatically populate, deselect Bank Products and 3Fund, then reselect them until the 3F App page appears.

  3. Complete the 3F App Page

    • Answer the questions on this page.

    • Typically, the answer to the first question is No.

  4. Choose the Refund Disbursement Method

    • Select the disbursement method for the refund:

      • RT = Mailed check

      • RTDD = Direct deposit

    • Typically, you’ll select RTDD for direct deposit.

  5. Enter Banking Information

    • Enter the taxpayer’s banking details for direct deposit. Double-check for accuracy to avoid delays.

  6. Set Alert Preferences

    • Choose the alert preferences for the client:

      • Typically, select No to avoid having the bank solicit your clients.

      • If the client wants notifications, opt them in for text or email alerts.

  7. Confirm Identity Verification

    • Verify the taxpayer’s identity by selecting a verification method:

      • Typically, select Copy of a Previous Year Return.

  8. Enter ID Information

    • Input the taxpayer and spouse’s ID details, if applicable.

    • Note: Bank products will not allow filing with an expired ID, even though the IRS permits it.
