F8962-070
The e-File database indicates that Form 8962 or a binary attachment with a description containing "ACA Explanation" must be included in the return.

IND-452
For an original return, the Primary SSN in the Return Header must not match the TIN of a previously accepted electronic individual return filed for the same tax period.
If the return information is correct, it will need to be paper-filed, and the taxpayer should contact the IRS for further assistance.


IND-181-01
The Primary Taxpayer has not entered a valid Identity Protection Personal Identification Number (IP PIN). Please visit www.irs.gov/getanippin for more details and resubmit the return with the correct IP PIN.
This reject occurs when the IP PIN does not match the IRS database. Please review the Personal Information Menu for additional information. A new IP PIN is issued each year.


IND-507
A Dependent SSN listed in 'DependentDetail' on the return has already been used as a Dependent SSN on another accepted return for the same tax period.
This reject occurs when a dependent is claimed on multiple returns. Ensure the dependent’s information is entered correctly.


FW2-502
Form W-2, Line B, 'Employer EIN' must match the data in the e-File database.

R0000-500-01
The 'PrimarySSN' and 'PrimaryNameControlTxt' in the Return Header must match the e-File database.

R0000-504-02
Each 'DependentSSN' and the corresponding 'DependentNameControlTxt' in 'DependentDetail' on the return must match the SSN and Name Control in the e-File database.

SEIC-F1040-501-02
Each 'QualifyingChildNameControlTxt' in Schedule EIC (Form 1040), Line 1, and 'QualifyingChildSSN' in Line 2 must match the e-File database.
Verify the dependent’s information. If the data is incorrect, correct it and retransmit the return.
If the return is still rejected after verifying the information, advise the taxpayer to contact the SSA to confirm the dependent’s date of birth. After an update, it may take up to 10 days for the IRS to be notified. Afterward, the return can be resubmitted electronically.
If the return information is correct, it will need to be paper-filed. The taxpayer should contact the SSA to verify and/or correct the dependent’s information by calling 800-772-1213 or finding a local SSA office.


IND-517-01
A Dependent SSN in the return must not be the same as the Primary or Spouse SSN on another return where 'PrimaryClaimAsDependentInd' or 'SpouseClaimAsDependentInd' is not checked.
This reject indicates the taxpayer or spouse has been claimed as a dependent on another return, and the "dependent on another return" checkbox is not checked.


R0000-503-02
The Spouse SSN and Spouse Name Control in the return must match the e-File database.
