Steps to E-File an Extension in TaxWise Online

  1. Navigate to the Main Info Form

    • Open the tax return and go to the Main Info form.

  2. Select the Extension Form

    • Locate the question: "What form(s) are you e-filing using PINs?"

    • Mark Extension Form 4868 as the selected form.

  3. Choose Payment Option (If Applicable)

    • Decide whether the taxpayer will make a payment with the extension.

    • If required, enter the PINs for verification.

  4. Complete Form 4868

    • Fill out all necessary details on Form 4868, ensuring accuracy.

  5. Run Diagnostics

    • Go to the Diagnostics section to check for any errors.

    • Fix any messages that appear before proceeding.

  6. Create the E-File Extension

    • Once the form is complete and error-free, generate the E-file Extension.
