  1. The original tax return was e-filed through ProWeb and accepted by the IRS.

  2. A printed copy of the original return is available.

Manually Entering Original Return Amounts

If either of these conditions is not met, you will need to manually enter the figures from the original return into Form 1040-X.

  • If you’re unsure about what to enter in each field, click on the "Where is this located?" link above the field for guidance.

  • Ensure accuracy by referencing the taxpayer’s original Form 1040 before making any changes.

Final Notes

✔️ If the original return was e-filed and accepted through ProWeb, the system will pre-fill the Original column for convenience.
✔️ If manual entry is required, carefully transfer the amounts from the original return to avoid discrepancies.
✔️ Use the built-in help feature for additional guidance on where to locate the necessary amounts.

By following these steps, you can efficiently amend a return in TaxSlayer ProWeb while ensuring accuracy in Form 1040-X.
