How to Enter a State ID in TaxSlayer Web

1. Select the State ID/License Tab

  • Navigate to the State ID/License section.

  • Choose the appropriate license or ID type from the available options.

2. Enter the ID Details

  • After selecting the ID type, enter the required information, including:

    • License/ID Number

    • Issuing State

    • Expiration Date

3. If the Client Doesn’t Have an ID

  • If the taxpayer does not have a State ID or Driver’s License, select "No Driver’s License or State ID".

  • If the taxpayer has an ID but chooses not to provide it, select "Not Provided" to proceed.

Key Considerations

✔️ Providing a State ID is encouraged for identity verification and fraud prevention.
✔️ If using a bank product, the State ID is required for e-filing.
✔️ If no ID is entered, some states may require additional identity verification.

By following these steps, taxpayers can correctly enter their State ID or Driver’s License information in 1040-SR Web-Based to ensure a smooth e-filing process.
