You can adjust preparation fees directly within a tax return by following these steps:
1. Adding Preparation Fees to a Return with a Bank Product
Step 1: Access the Review Section
Navigate to Review under the Review/Print section from the left-hand menu.
Step 2: Update the Bank Application
Click Update to access the bank application after selecting the Refund Type (Refund Transfer).
Step 3: Enter the Preparation Fees
Scroll down to the Fee Information section.
Enter the preparation fees in the Tax Preparation Fee field.
Note: If you do not wish to add the Audit Guardians Program, make sure to uncheck the appropriate box.
2. Adding Preparation Fees to a Return Without a Bank Product
Step 1: Access the Invoice Section
Navigate to Invoice under the Review/Print section from the left-hand menu.
Step 2: Enter the Preparation Fees
Scroll down to the Description of Services/Charges section.
Add a description (e.g., Prep Fees) and enter the corresponding amount.
Step 3: Verify the Invoice Summary
The fee will automatically appear in the Invoice Summary section.
