Introduction

  • Purpose: This article explains how to set up the Application Advanced Settings for your Ambassador Program before launch.

  • Context: These settings control applicant codes, reapplication rules, and country eligibility, ensuring your application process runs smoothly and meets program requirements.

How to Enable Auto-Generate Promo Code

This setting enables the system to automatically assign a unique promo code to each applicant when they submit their application. This feature is useful for tracking referrals.

Requirement: Your Ambassador Program must be integrated with Shopify.

  1. Click on Settings > Account Settings > Advanced Configuration > Application

  2. Activate Auto-Generate Applicant Code toggle

  3. When toggled on, you can define a custom code format using placeholder variables:

  • [FIRST_NAME] – applicant’s first name

  • [LAST_NAME] – applicant’s last name

  • [INCREMENTAL_NUMBER] – a sequential number starting from the value you define

For example, a format like [FIRST_NAME][INCREMENTAL_NUMBER] with a starting number of 1 could generate codes like Alex1, Jordan2, and so on.

How to allow rejected applicants to reapply

This setting allows applicants who were previously rejected to submit a new application after a defined waiting period. This is useful if your program wants to give candidates a second chance after they have improved their qualifications or met new criteria.

💡 We recommend setting a minimum waiting period of 90 days to give applicants time to grow and reduce duplicate submissions.

By default, SocialLadder does not allow reapplications. To enable this option:

  1. Click on Settings > Account Settings > Advanced Configuration > Application

  2. Activate the 'Allow rejected applicants to reapply' toggle.

  3. Set the number of days they must wait before reapplying.

How to Adjust Allowed Countries

This setting controls which countries applicants can apply from. By default, the United States is pre-selected by SocialLadder as an allowed country. You can expand this list to accept applications from additional regions.

  1. Click on Settings > Account Settings > Advanced Configuration > Application

  2. Activate Application Allowed Countries toggle

  3. Select the countries you want to allow.

    1. All selections must use the ISO Alpha-2 country code format (e.g., US for United States, CA for Canada, GB for United Kingdom). Reference database linked here for country codes.
