Setting Up Sociavore Dining Options in Toast

When orders come through Sociavore, Toast needs a dedicated dining option so your receipts and reports correctly show the order source. Without this, orders may incorrectly display as "DoorDash" or another provider on your kitchen chits.

Follow these steps to create the dining option in Toast Web:


Step 1: Log into Toast Web

Go to https://www.toasttab.com and sign in with your restaurant's admin credentials.


Step 2: Navigate to Dining Options

From the left-hand menu, go to:

Kitchen > Dining Options > Dining Options

You'll see your existing dining options listed here (Dine In, Take Out, Delivery, etc.).


Step 3: Add a New Dining Option

Click the + Add button at the top of the dining options list.


Step 4: Create "Sociavore - Pickup"

Enter the following:

  • Name: Sociavore - Pickup

  • Behavior: Select Takeout from the dropdown

The "Takeout" behavior tells Toast this is a pickup order, which ensures the correct prompts and reporting.


Step 5: (Optional) Create "Sociavore - Delivery"

If you also accept delivery orders through Sociavore, add a second dining option:

  • Name: Sociavore - Delivery

  • Behavior: Select Delivery from the dropdown


Step 6: Configure POS Visibility

For both new dining options, uncheck "Show on POS" β€” these orders come in automatically through the integration, so your floor staff don't need to see them as manual options on the POS terminal.


Step 7: Save and Publish

Click Save at the top of the page, then Publish to push the changes to your POS devices.


What Happens Next

Once the dining options are created and published, Sociavore orders will display correctly on your kitchen chits and in your Toast sales reports. You'll be able to track Sociavore revenue separately from dine-in, third-party delivery, and other channels.
