This may seem like an obvious step but ensuring that every piece of information is filled out on your social media pages is the first step in ensuring your page is visible to your local audience.

Here is a checklist below of things that are necessary to fill in from the get-go!

Facebook

  • Facebook business name

  • Facebook username - this will give your business a unique URL

  • Business description - along with your address, phone number and details of what you stock

  • A profile photo - your shop’s logo

  • A cover photo - something recognisable for your business

  • A call to action

Instagram

  • Instagram username - Short, simple and the name of the business

  • Instagram name - Different to username and is searchable so use targeted words

  • Instagram bio
    - Part 1 Quick explanation of who you are and what you do
    - Part 2 CTA for the link in the bio – tell users what the below 1 link is for

  • A profile photo - your shop’s logo

  • Phone number & website
