How to fix buffering on any device

Buffering Definition:

Sometime referred to as Spinning, Circling, Pausing, Swirling, Stopping, Freezing. Buffering is when Live TV or VOD contents stops for a few seconds and then starts back up. When this happens there is a spinning circle that shows on the screen.

If your device is totally frozen. Meaning you can not back out of the app or get to the home screen by pressing the home button. Then your device is not buffering. This usually means your app needs to be fixed or your device replaced.

Steps to troubleshoot buffering

Quick Steps

  1. Make sure you have a good internet connection. Top Routers to get

    Check your internet speed on the DEVICE - Needs to be at least 15 mbs consistently.

  2. Make sure you have the newest Softbox for best performance and speeds.

  3. Make sure this issue is not on just a few channels but is happening on every channel. If it's only a specific channel than. Please request speaking to an agent to report the channel. Be very specific on what channel or Episode, or movie.


Troubleshooting

1. Check your internet speed.

  • Softbox Buzz:

On the Softbox Buzz do this:

For other boxes and devices

You can do this in the Drivemob app. by clicking on the settings Gear, then Speed Test then Begin Test. For Drivemob you need at least 10mbs download speeds. All the steps below may really help your internet speeds. Try all of them and then come back and test your internet speeds again.

  • You can also test the internet speed on your device by going to the google Play store and downloading a Speed Test app.

  1. Make sure you are connected to 5g internet on your WiFi router. To do this on Softbox Buzz. Go to Settings/Wifi. To do this on the Softbox Go. Hold Down you Home button on your remote. Then go to Settings/Network- If you have 2 router choices pick the 5g NOT the 2g connect to that. To do this on the Softbox X we recommend connecting with an Ethernet cable directly from your router.   2. We also Highly recommend having a good router. The one included with your internet provider is ALWAYS junk, and blocks things on the box sometimes. Which is why we recommend doing a Power Cycle to refresh it regularly. GET a new Router Here: Top Wi-Fi Routers in 2025

  3. After all the steps above if you still have less than 10mbs WiFi testing your box, Then you may want to consider changing internet providers. Try to get a Fiber Optic connection, or a Broadband connection. After the installation of the new internet. Test the Internet speed on your Device before they leave. Also Have the installer install the main router right where your main TV is in the home. This is where you will be using the internet the most.

  4. If getting something faster than 10mbs is not possible for you. Here are some alternatives. Get the new Softbox Buzz, and a subscription to Lime Pie. Then you can download series and no matter what your internet speed and watch them later with no buffering

For Free APPS: If you are having buffering in the free movie apps like Cinema HD, Film Plus, Bee TV. Note that these are free apps, and tend to be unreliable and have buffering because their servers are not that great. That is why some links work and some are really bad. For the best Experience Get Lime Pie. Lime Pie will work well on Speeds 30mbs or higher. LimePie is the best of our apps currently for Slower internet to replace all streaming services, and for movies and series. In LimePie you can download the movie or series and watch it later if you have a Softbox Buzz. This makes it work we on ANY service
