How to Purchase a Soma ID
Open the main menu and click Purchase Soma ID, then follow the prompts. Once purchased, the Soma ID will appear in the Soma ID Archive.
How to Add a User
Adding a Soma ID Manually
If Soma IDs do not appear automatically in your user list, add them manually.
Open the main menu in Soma Analytics and select Soma ID Archive. Find the Soma ID you want to add, then tap the + icon to add them to your list.
Adding to a User Who Purchased via iTunes
If your athlete purchased Soma NPT through iTunes, they already have a Soma ID. Ask them to share it with you so you can connect to them in Soma Analytics. If they are not sure where to find it, their Soma ID is displayed on the Profile screen inside the Soma NPT app.
Athletes who purchased via iTunes must log in using the same method they originally selected, whether that is Apple, email, or Facebook. Their subscription is linked to that login method and device.
To connect them, tap the + icon, enter their Soma ID in the field provided, then tap Add User.
How to Create a Plan
Learn how to build structured, progressive, and measurable cognitive training plans using the Plan Builder inside Soma Analytics. This guide walks you through setup, session design, and assignment so you can build effective, data-driven programmes for your athletes.
Step 1. Create a New Plan
Give your plan a clear, descriptive name so you can identify it easily later. Under Save the Plan As, select New Plan to start from scratch.
Step 2. Set Up Sessions
Before adding tasks, set up all your sessions with names, scales, and any tracking features you want to include.
Click Add Session to create a new one. Use a simple naming format such as Baseline, Session 1, Session 2, Session 3.
Define how many times each session should repeat under Session Cycles. The default is one cycle.
Add scales to allow athletes to record feedback after each task. Available scales include Fatigue (RMF), Effort (RME), and Exertion (RPE).
Optionally, enable Baseline Comparison to automatically generate pre and post baseline reports. When this is turned on, the session cycle automatically changes to two for accurate comparison.
Optionally, enable Minute-on-Minute (MoM) tracking for detailed performance data within each session.
Step 3. Design the Plan
Once all sessions are set up, begin building the structure of your training plan.
Decide when cognitive work will occur relative to physical training. Options are Pre-Session, In-Session, and Post-Session. Only the selected placement will appear inside Soma NPT, keeping the athlete's view clean and focused.
Click Add Drill within a session to insert tasks. For each drill, set the duration, intensity, and mode.
Repeat this process until the session is complete.
Programming tip: Create a small core group of sessions such as Session 1 to 3 and repeat them each week. Progressively increase the load or apply undulating periodization by adjusting intensity, duration, or frequency across weeks.
Baseline tip: If you want to review baseline data before finalizing the plan, set up session names, add scales, and enable MoM first. After reviewing the results, return and complete the rest of the plan.
Step 4. Assign the Plan
To assign immediately, click Assign Users, select the athletes, and click Assign.
To schedule for later, select a date and time from the calendar. Soma will assign the plan automatically at that time.
Step 5. Load the New Plan in Soma NPT
When a new plan is assigned, the athlete must tap the Home tab in Soma NPT to refresh the plan list. The new plan will appear automatically once refreshed.
Saving and Deleting Plans
Plans save automatically while you work. Assigned plans appear under Active. Unassigned plans appear under Inactive.
If you delete a session that has already been completed, all associated data will be permanently lost. This cannot be undone.
