How to add your song to Spotify

Learn how to get your song on Spotify.

You can add any song to Spotify yourself as a ‘local file’. This means that you can play it on your own device and any other device that you specifically add the song to. Here's how to do it:

Step 1: Download your song to your computer

You can do this by clicking the download button on your Song Page. If you run into any issues, check out our guide here.

Step 2: Add it to Spotify on your computer

  1. Open the Spotify app on your computer (PC or Mac)

  2. Click your profile picture in the top right, then click Settings

  3. Scroll down to "Your Library" and turn on Show Local Files

  4. Click Add a source and choose the folder where your song is saved (usually "Downloads")

  5. Your song will now appear under Local Files in Your Library. We recommend adding it to a playlist so it's easy to find

Step 3: Play it on your phone (optional)

  1. Add your song to a playlist on your computer (see Step 2)

  2. On your phone, sign in to the same Spotify account, and connect to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer

  3. Open the playlist on your phone and download it, and your song will then play on your phone like any other track

ℹ️ Please note, Spotify requires a Premium subscription to sync local files to your phone. If you don't have Premium, you can still play your song on your phone by saving it to your phone directly.

We hope the above instructions are helpful. We recommend having a quick Google if you get stuck, as there is a lot of information on how to do this online.
