The creation date defaults to when the song was created in Songspace, but you can change it to any date. You can also clear the date if you don't know it or don't want to include it. In music publishing-speak, creation date is sometimes referred to as the "date of creation" or "DOC".

1. To set the creation date, first open a song project by clicking the title in the catalog view.

2. Go to the Rights info tab of the song.

3. In the Creation Date section, type in the date you wish to set it as.

You can also delete date completely by clearing out the numbers.

4. After selecting your date, make sure to save your changes by clicking the green Save button in the top-right corner of the song project.
