Contributor roles (list) and a walk-through of how to add them to a Release or a recording

Contributors can be added to any Release or recording within your catalog. There are several roles to choose from:

  • Artist

  • Band

  • Associated Performer

  • Member

  • User Defined

  • Studio Musician

  • Studio Personnel

  • Primary Musician

  • Contributor

  • Producer

  • Arranger

  • SubArranger

  • Composer

  • Composer Lyricist

  • Author

  • Lyricist

  • Translator

  • Original Publisher

  • Rights Controller On Product

  • Conductor

  • Orchestra

  • Ensemble

  • Choir

  • Soloist

  • Director

  • Film Director

  • Photographer

  • Choreographer

  • Encoder

  • Unknown

How to add a Contributor to a Release

1. Navigate to the Releases tab of your catalog.

2. Double-click any Release to open it.

3. Click the Edit button.

4. Scroll down to the Contributors section. In the Contributor Name field, start typing the name of the person that you want to add to the Release as a contributor.
5. Select the correct corresponding result either by clicking on the existing contributor name or by clicking Create new.

6. Select the contributor role using the drop-down menu.

7. Click Add.

8. Click the Save button on the Release when you're done.

How to add a Contributor to a recording

1. Navigate to the Songs tab of your catalog.

2. Double-click a song to open it.
3. Click the ... button next to the recording on the song and then select "Edit recording...".

4. Scroll down to the Contributors section. In the Contributor Name field, start typing the name of the person that you want to add to the recording as a contributor.
5. Select the correct corresponding result either by clicking on the existing contributor name or by clicking Create new.

6. Select the contributor role using the drop-down menu.

7. Click Add.

8. Click the Save button on the recording when you're done.
