Creating a Space account, ordering boxes, packing & shipping

Do I need a Space account?

Space is a fully tech-enabled solution and you need to set up your own account. We currently have an iOS app and a web app that can be used with any device.

How do I sign up?

You must have a valid U.S. cell phone number to use Space. When signing up or logging in, Space will send you a text message verification code. Enter that code into the app, and you will be logged in.

If you are a new customer and order boxes through our site, your account will be automatically created when you place your first order.

Is Space available in my area?

Space is currently available in the contiguous United States, also known as the lower 48 states. We do not currently offer service to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico or any U.S. Territories.

Can I sign in with an email address?

At this time users can only sign in using a valid U.S. cell phone number. However, email sign in is a feature we plan to add in the future.

How do I order boxes?

If you are a new customer, you can order boxes (and get a free month on us!) through any of the buttons on our site.

You can also create a free account and order boxes within the app. Click the "Add" button and adjust the quantity of boxes in your order before checking out.

When will my boxes arrive?

Your boxes will arrive in 3-4 business days or less once your order has been processed and shipped. Your UPS tracking information will be available in the app once your order is on its way.

Keep in mind that there are events beyond our control (i.e. inclement weather, construction work) that could delay your shipment.

What do I do when my boxes arrive?

Your Space boxes will arrive flat, in an overpack. Remove the boxes and all contents from the overpack. Please recycle the overpack if you can.

Refer to the direction sheet included with your order. Assemble your boxes using the provided tape strips and start decluttering! The Space app allows you to customize each box by giving it a name, cataloging its contents and photographing the packed contents before you seal it. Is there anything I shouldn't pack?

We have a list of Prohibited Items on our site and during the in-app packing process. When you accept our Terms & Conditions, you agree not to pack any of these prohibited items in your Space box.

How do I ship my boxes?

Once your boxes are packed and ready to be stored, you have two options.

  1. Schedule a free UPS pick-up right within the app. You can schedule a pick-up for the next business day or pick a day further out. You have the flexibility to do what best suits your schedule. See our related article on pick up specifications for full details.

  2. Drop off your boxes at any UPS Store or Access Point. All you have to do is walk in, have UPS scan your pre-paid shipping label, and walk out.
