People: How Often is Data Updated?

Written by Marco Squarci

Specter’s People Data is split into two components, People DB and Talent Signals each updated on its own schedule to balance speed, accuracy, and signal clarity.

People DB — Updated Daily and Monthly

What it is: A comprehensive directory of 600M+ professional profiles, including roles, companies, education, and connections.

Update frequency: Incremental daily updates, full refresh every 30 days.

What's Daily and What's Monthly?

  • Day-to-day Changes – Major changes to profiles are processed daily, keeping data accurate between full monthly syncs.

  • Stable, trusted records – Monthly refresh of all People data allows us to verify and consolidate large-scale changes at high accuracy.

Talent Signals — Updated Weekly

What it is: A live feed of time-sensitive professional moves (e.g., new jobs and talent in stealth).
Update frequency: Collected daily, released weekly.

Why Weekly?

  • Timely alerts – You’ll catch important moves as they happen, but in a digestible format.

  • Signal, not noise – Weekly batching avoids alert fatigue, while still surfacing key changes.

  • Cross-sync with People DB – Any individual who triggers a Talent Signal mid-month will have their People DB profile updated instantly during that week’s push.
