Our People Data consists of two main components: Talent Signals and the People Database (People DB). Each is updated on a different schedule to provide the most relevant information without overwhelming you with excessive notifications.
People DB: Monthly Updates
What It Is: A centralised record of professional data—covering roles, experiences, and connections.
How Often: Every data point in the People DB is updated on a monthly basis.
Why Monthly?
Accuracy Over Time: Monthly updates allow us to verify and consolidate large-scale changes, ensuring high data quality.
Reduced Overload: Major profile updates don’t happen every day. A monthly refresh strikes the right balance between comprehensive data and a manageable update cycle.
But What If a Person’s Data Changes Mid-Month?
Although the People DB undergoes a full refresh each month, Talent Signals serve as a more frequent layer of updates for time-sensitive changes. If a specific individual triggers a Talent Signal, their corresponding data in the People DB will also reflect that change on a weekly basis (see below).
Talent Signals: Weekly Updates
What They Are: Indicators of professional activity—new job roles, joining or leaving companies, skill changes, and other relevant movements.
How Often: We scrape the underlying data daily, but update the platform on a weekly basis.
Why Weekly?
Timely but Manageable: A weekly schedule ensures you stay informed about key changes without being flooded by notifications every single day.
Critical Insights: Important career movements are surfaced when they matter, giving you a clear picture of shifts in talent.
Don’t Miss Out: By batching these signals weekly, we help prevent the loss of critical updates if you happen to step away or miss a daily release.
How It Works
Daily Scraping
We continuously monitor multiple reliable sources to catch new or updated professional data points. These daily scrapes help us identify changes quickly.
Verification & Consolidation
Our system verifies and consolidates all new information—checking for accuracy and consistency. This happens daily, behind the scenes.
Release Timing
Talent Signals: Published to the platform once a week to keep users informed of all significant changes without overload.
People DB: Fully refreshed once a month, ensuring all baseline data points are up to date.
Note: If a person shows a new Talent Signal mid-month, their People DB record is updated during the weekly Talent Signals release.
User Notifications
Weekly Alerts: If you’ve saved searches or alerts for specific roles or individuals, you’ll get a consolidated weekly notification of changes.
Monthly Recap: The monthly People DB update ensures all your data stays fresh with no detail older than a few weeks.
Why Two Different Frequencies?
Flexibility: Not every piece of profile information warrants a rapid update. By separating Talent Signals from the People DB, we can deliver urgent changes quickly while maintaining a comprehensive monthly refresh for all data.
Reduced Clutter: Daily front-end updates can cause essential signals to get lost in the noise. Weekly releases consolidate everything into a manageable cadence.
Reliability & Trust: Verifying large amounts of data thoroughly takes time. A monthly update cycle for the People DB helps us maintain high-quality, trusted records.
By aligning data freshness (monthly for the People DB) and timely updates (weekly Talent Signals), we ensure that you always have a current, reliable view of professional movements—without drowning in constant notifications.
