Investor Data in Specter is powered by two key components: Strategic Signals and Investor DB. Each component refreshes on its own schedule to ensure you have timely, accurate insights while balancing data reliability and operational efficiency.

Strategic Signals

Weekly Updates: All data in Strategic Signals is refreshed once per week.

Why Weekly?
Although we gather new data every day from real-time sources (covering investments, acquisitions, and exits), we deliberately release updates on a weekly schedule. This approach helps you avoid information overload, reduces day-to-day noise, and ensures that each wave of data is properly validated before reaching you. By bundling daily signals into a single weekly update, you can stay informed without being bombarded by constant fluctuations.

Investor DB

  • Daily Funding Signals: Funding events (e.g., new rounds raised, investments made) are updated on a daily basis.

    • Why Daily?
The frequency aligns with how quickly new funding announcements, press releases, or regulatory filings typically appear. A daily refresh allows Specter to capture and incorporate the latest funding activities without delay.

  • Monthly Rankings & Highlights: The deeper investor rankings and highlight metrics refresh once a month.

    • Why Monthly? Unlike short-term announcements, these rankings require more extensive analysis and modeling. Monthly updates provide enough lead time to gather new data from the previous cycle, thoroughly process it, and integrate longer-term metrics (like exit performance or portfolio growth) into investor scores. By consolidating these insights monthly, the system can incorporate more robust analytics—ensuring accuracy and consistency for each refresh cycle.
