Specter’s Talent Signal Scoring feature is a powerful tool designed to help users quickly identify and prioritise the best talents. By assigning a Signal Score to talent activity, we ensure that users focus on the most impactful and relevant data, saving time and improving decision-making.

How is the score calculated?

Talent Scores' are based on the background of the individual in question. For example, their career/education history, their tenure and where applicable, any prior founder experience, amongst other traits. Together, these generate a score out of 10 to show which people we think are building something particularly compelling, but that doesn't mean signals with a lower score are any less valuable, it's just another way to help you prioritise & streamline your processes.

Example

Below we have 2 different profiles who have started companies, with different Talent Scores, Edward who has a score of 10/10 & Manish who is a 6/10.

As you can see, Edward has 21 years of experience as opposed to Manish who has 10 years of experience. We can also see in the highlights that Edward has 5 Highlight badges as opposed to Manish, who only has 2. These are some of the reasons for the different scores & why Edward gets a perfect 10/10.

It's worth noting that this score is subjective & that anyone can found a successful company!
