How Does NFL Tiers Work? 🏈

How NFL Tiers contests work on Splash Sports β€” building your lineup, scoring, available formats, injured players, and how winners are determined.

Updated yesterday

NFL Tiers is a fantasy-style contest where you build a lineup by selecting one player from each tier. Your players earn points based on their real-life performance, and the entry with the highest total score wins.

How NFL Tiers Works

Players are grouped into tiers based on their expected performance β€” Tier 1 contains the top players, with each subsequent tier featuring players with potentially higher value relative to their cost. You select one player from each tier to build your roster, then earn points based on how those players perform in their actual NFL games.

How to Make Your Picks

  1. Log in at app.splashsports.com or open the Splash Sports app

  2. Go to My Contests β†’ Active and select your Tiers contest

  3. Tap your entry to open the pick sheet

  4. Select one player from each tier to build your lineup

  5. Review your selections and tap Save/Submit to lock in your picks

⚠️ Picks lock before the first game of the slate. Once locked, your lineup cannot be changed.

How Scoring Works

Players earn fantasy points based on their real-life stats during the contest period. Common scoring categories include passing yards and touchdowns, rushing yards and touchdowns, receiving yards and touchdowns, and receptions (in PPR formats). Check your contest's Rules section for the exact scoring breakdown.

Tiers Contest Formats

NFL Tiers is available in several formats depending on how long you want to compete:

  • Single Game Tiers β€” Draft from players in one specific NFL game. Great for targeting a single matchup.

  • Single Day Tiers β€” Draft from all players across every game played on one day (e.g., Sunday).

  • Single Round Tiers β€” Available during the playoffs. Draft from all players competing in a specific playoff round.

  • Multi-Round Tiers β€” Compete across multiple weeks or playoff rounds with optional player use limits, meaning once you use a player, you may not be able to select them again in later rounds.

What If One of My Players Gets Injured or Doesn't Play?

If a player on your roster doesn't play, they earn zero points for that contest period. Unlike some fantasy platforms, there are no automatic substitutions in Tiers β€” your lineup is locked at the pick deadline. This makes it important to check injury reports before the deadline and avoid players listed as doubtful or out.

How Winners Are Determined

The entry with the highest total fantasy points wins. If two or more entries finish with the same score, Splash splits the prize equally among all tied entries.
